Day One Is Done
By Ana | September 22, 2011
Everyone, we just experienced the LAST First Day of Autumn Quarter.
Since we’re switching to semesters this summer, this year is the last academic year on the quarter system, and the last First Day of Autumn Quarter has come and gone! From now on, we will be having First Day(s) of Fall Semester. Just sayin’. Keep that day in your memory banks.
Several other bloggers give quarterly updates on their class schedules, so this quarter I thought I’d do the same. Of course, since it’s only the second day of class, I can’t say much, but we’ll give it a shot.
Chemistry 251–Organic Chemistry I. Since I’m Pre-Med, I have to take a year of organic chemistry, including two quarters of lab. This first quarter is just lecture. To be honest, I’m really nervous about it–it’s notorious for being one of the toughest classes, period. I’m going to be doing a ton of studying this year….gulp.
Physics 111–Intro Physics. This is another Pre-Med requirement, a year of physics (usually 111, 112, and 113). I took physics in high school, but it’s been quite a while since then. I’m not expecting it to be too tough, but then again, I don’t think anything will compare to organic chemistry.
Political Science 551–The United Nations in Global Problem Solving. This class was one out of several options to fulfill some requirements in my major, International Relations and Diplomacy. I’ve always been interested in this kind of thing, so I think it’ll be a great class.
Psychology 300–Research Methods in Psychology. This is a requirement for my minor in Psychology. Honestly, it’s reputed to be rather dull, but my instructor seems pretty entertaining.
The last time I took 4 classes was Winter Quarter of my freshman year. It’s not exactly a walk in the park. But I’m hoping with a little time management, a decent work ethic, and fewer naps, things will turn out all right.
