5 things that are “worth it”

Written by    Jun 7, 2018

Around summertime, especially if you’re an incoming freshman, you have a lot of emails coming in about a lot of decisions you need to make. What meal plan, where you’ll live, if you’ll life with someone you know, what classes to take, yada yada yada. It’s hard to decide what choices you should take a risk on, and with what choices you should just go […]

Senior Week

Written by    May 24, 2018

At the end of the semester, I usually found myself leaving campus as quickly as possible, but with graduation and training for my internship, I got to see and experience all of the craziness that happens during a senior’s final week as a student. The week kicked off with a craft night, where seniors were invited to decorate their caps. As you can see, mine […]

Commencement Week

Written by    May 7, 2018

I’ve always wondered what graduating students do in the week in between finals and commencement. In past years, I’ve gone home soon after my last final was over, so I’d never been around to witness campus emptying out and becoming quieter. But now that it’s my turn to graduate, I’m finally learning what goes on during the week!

Rainbow Celebration

Written by    May 1, 2018

Last week, I started out my graduation celebration by attending Ohio State’s Lavender Rainbow Celebration, the celebration for LGBTQ students graduating from Ohio State hosted by the Ohio State Multicultural Center and Scarlet and Gay, Ohio State’s LGBTQ alumni group. I can’t believe that it was finally my turn to be part of the graduating class at Rainbow Celebration!

Exploring Columbus: German Village

Written by    May 1, 2018

Another place in my city that I’ve never visited is German Village, despite hearing a lot of great things about it. Since it’s just a 10 minute drive from campus, I headed over to the area with a friend to see what all the hype was about. Our first stop (and biggest priority) was The Book Loft. I’ve heard it’s big enough to get lost […]

Endless Opportunities

Written by    May 1, 2018

Although I’m only a First Year student, I already feel so many doors have been opened for me here at THE Ohio State University. When transitioning from high school to college, it’s easy to think some things are meant to be left in the past. However, I’ve found I’m still able to express myself through the endless opportunities this university has to offer. As I’ve […]

Where, Oh Where, Has Rylan Been?

Written by    Apr 10, 2018

Hi Y’all! It’s me, Rylan. Yes, I’m alive(?)! I’ve been a little absent from the blog this semester, and I wanted to explain why. Hopefully, in the process, I might also shed some light on the possibilities of student life at OSU and the art of being busy (which are both more apt topics than me simply venting about my routine). Here’s what I’ve been up […]

The Joye of Cooking

Written by    Apr 10, 2018

Now that the obligatory Discworld reference is done with, we’re going to talk about something that everyone really should know how to do — especially if you’re going to college. That thing is cooking. Because, let me tell you from experience, at some point, you will get tired of the food your college offers. No matter how good it is (or how many varieties your […]
