Top 5 Reasons to Start College Undecided

Written by    Sep 19, 2017

I never planned on starting my college career in the University Exploration program, but beginning here ended up being one of my smartest decisions to date. Rather than rushing into something that I only wanted to do halfheartedly, just so I could tell other people I was doing something that sounded good, I decided to start off without a major. Here’s just a few of […]

A Rite of Passage

Written by    Sep 18, 2017

Let’s face it. You’re not an Ohio State Student unless you’ve ridden (or at least know about) the 2. The COTA 2 is a line that goes up and down High Street. I’ve used it to ride into Downtown to see the Nutcracker at the Palace Theatre and back, and went to Melt in the Short North with my robot group. But also (let’s face […]

No Car, Plenty of Adventure

Written by    Sep 18, 2017

As I start the ignition, a thrilling sense of adrenaline courses through my veins. The feeling of adventure is ignited and I can only think of the hundreds of places I can go. The world feels infinite, and I am just a speck bound for endless discovery. In my hometown of Akron, Ohio, I began to take this feeling for granted. As I begin to […]

Best Food Forward

Written by    Sep 15, 2017

I recently learned about an awesome new program available at Ohio State: Best Food Forward. This is a group of students who want to make it easier for students to have access to fresh fruits and vegetables, and they’ve started bulk-buying groups to make it happen. Here’s how it works:

Is OSU too big?

Written by    Sep 13, 2017

I’ve lived in the same town in the same house my whole life. My high school was surrounded by cornfields. I was never a city girl, nor was I ever one who thought of what it would be like to leave my town. When I mentioned considering Ohio State as my next step, the responses were all the same: “But it’s so big!”   Of […]

Gallery Hop

Written by    Sep 12, 2017

I spent my time wisely this Labor Day weekend: by going to Gallery Hop in the Short North with some friends. Gallery Hop is when the art galleries and restaurants in the Short North stay open late so that people can walk around and enjoy the artwork. It takes place on the first Saturday of every month, which means that if you’re just in Columbus during […]

Dawn of the Second…Year

Written by    Sep 12, 2017

No, the Moon isn’t falling, don’t worry. I hope that everyone enjoyed their Labour Day Weekend. It was certainly relaxing for me, and in that relaxation, I reflected upon my second year of college. And I marveled at how familiar yet different it was from my first year. The biggest difference being that coming back to college was like (and I know what I’m about […]

Navigating the 50 Clubs You Signed Up For

Written by    Aug 30, 2017

So, the Involvement Fair just took place last week. You hiked to The Oval with your roommate ready for free t-shirts and free food.  After being completely overwhelmed by over 200 tables, using the “Involvement Fair” geo-filter, and taking a selfie with Brutus, it has been three hours. The fair was long, hot, chaotic, and you are more than ready for a long nap. As you […]

One Year and One Week

Written by    Aug 30, 2017

I am one week into my second year at Ohio State and like the second season of any good TV show, it’s a time to build off of my growth from last year and meet new challenges. Before moving in, I figured I would not have to worry about feeling overwhelmed by classes and extracurricular activities since I had been through it before. Well, I […]

The Great Gateway

Written by    Aug 28, 2017

One of the things I’ve been appreciating since coming back to Ohio State is being walking distance from the Gateway Film Center. The Gateway Film Center shows many of the movies that regular movie theaters do, but they also show many independent films and documentaries, and host special events like Sensory Friendly movies where the volume is lowered and the lights are kept on.
