Everybody was Stage Combat Fightin’

Written by    Jan 2, 2018

Last spring, the Ohio State Department of Theatre announced that one of the grad students would teach an advanced movement-based stage combat class, and you can bet I was down for the chance to channel my inner James Bond.

It’s Never Too Late to Try Something New!

Written by    Jan 18, 2017

As a second-semester junior, I can tell that I’m very settled into my routine. Generally I’m fine with this–I like having a routine of things I’m used to and that I enjoy. But I also realized that it’s been a while since I’ve tried anything outside of my routine, and I’m running out of time to do new things! That’s why I’m glad to report […]

The early bird gets the workout

Written by    Sep 12, 2016

If you’re anything like me, you prefer to work out in a more secluded manner. I tend to sweat like a pig and get red as a tomato while going through my routines and would rather no one be around to see me fall during my attempts to hold a single-legged side plank. Unfortunately, as college students, we have little access to a gym that […]

Ben Babbles ‘Bout the Bike Paths

Written by    Jun 9, 2016

Did you like that alliteration in the title? I thought so. As you know, The OSU is located in the lovely capital city of Columbus, OH. As mentioned in every Welcome Week program, Columbus is the 15th largest city in the nation (Surprising, am I right? You would think it would be something like Toledo). Columbus is not only the capital of the state, but […]

Summer in Cbus

Written by    Jun 8, 2016

Woah! Bam! Yahuh! That’s right! Ben is back to writing after his brief hiatus. Brief is a very subjective term. I am comparing my break in terms of the history of the universe, which would relatively make it “brief.” I am once again here to spread the Gospel of Ben (no affiliation to the Bible) and share the stories and advice of my life.

A Summer Running Feat

Written by    Jun 8, 2016

Ever since I can remember, I’ve been an athletic person. I started dancing at the age of three, played soccer, and enjoyed playing catch and striking a baseball with a bat in the backyard with my brother and dad. I enjoyed figure skating, Zumba, yoga and shooting hoops while growing up and joined the rowing team during high school. I never was much of a […]

It’s been a cold week at Ohio State, and sometimes (aka always) you need a good playlist for walking to class to keep your mind off the cold.

Taking the Lead with Derek Hough

Written by    Feb 15, 2016

One challenge I set for myself this school year was to try something outside of my comfort zone. So when OUAB announced dancer Derek Hough would be “Taking The Lead,” teaching a dance class on campus for students, I knew I wanted to try it. I love watching Dancing With the Stars, so I thought it would be cool to learn from one of the best.
