Buckeyes Abroad: Paris

Written by    Oct 7, 2019

Hardly has a city ever been more romanticize, written about, painted about and sung about than Paris. I tried to go into my time in Paris with no expectations, and I was absolutely blown away. I was surprised by how navigable the city is: The metro is easy to use, and many of Paris’ top tourist attractions are located centrally to others. We saw as […]

Buckeyes Abroad: Barcelona

Written by    Oct 7, 2019

Barcelona was more touristy and less beach-y than I expected; for example, the famous Las Ramblas street was crowded at all times of day and night. Still, it was a neat place to explore! I personally found Barcelona not as quaint or beautiful as Madrid (read all about my Madrid trip here), but it is still an amazing city! If you go to Barcelona, you […]

Buckeyes Abroad: Madrid

Written by    Oct 7, 2019

In August I traveled to Madrid, a vibrant city with rich history and thriving culture. Madrid has beautiful architecture — every alley, every portico, every plaza is out of a movie— and it’s easy to navigate on foot. We stayed right next to the Prado Museum, one of the world’s finest art museums, and we spent several hours there our first day. It’s free for […]

The Finals Countdown

Written by    May 24, 2019

As each semester comes to a close at Ohio State, we all go through another repetition of the dreaded finals week. Fortunately for me, I took my last final yesterday, so this very “special” time of the school year has come to an end. As I look back on the events that led up to it, here is what I have noticed: It feels more […]

WELD Keynote Speaker, Thasunda Brown Duckett, CEO of Chase Bank

Written by    Mar 26, 2019

Last Thursday I had the opportunity to attend a Women for Economic and Leadership Development event downtown, where Thasunda Brown Duckett, CEO of Chase Bank,  spoke. Thasunda, known by most as “T,” spoke about her childhood and the hard work she’s put forth to get to where she is today. T shared how she diversifies her life portfolio by spending time on the things that […]

Landing the Internship: Reflection

Written by    Mar 26, 2019

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve accepted an internship with Paycor in Cincinnati this summer. I’ll be working with their internal communications team on multiple initiatives and helping to plan Paycor’s annual sales kickoff. I couldn’t be happier, and I am so thankful to my parents, mentors, peers and professors who have helped me through this process. It looks simple and easy when students start […]

An Update on College “Gymtimidation”

Written by    Mar 25, 2019

Earlier this semester, I wrote a post on going to my first rec fitness class at OSU. I’m the person that hates the gym because of my gymtimidation, which really means I’m irrationally anxious about the amount of people that can see me exercising in public—and mostly using every machine and technique incorrectly. Any time I went to one of the recreation centers, I had this fear […]

TEDx Ohio State

Written by    Feb 26, 2019

Did you know that mosquito saliva has a numbing effect, which is why you don’t notice when you’re bitten? Neither did I … until I heard Dr. Bharat Bhushan speak about bio-mimicry on Saturday. This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend TEDxOhioStateUniversity, where thirteen members of the Ohio State/Columbus community gave talks about a variety of topics. The mission of TED is to […]

A Hot Topic

Written by    Feb 25, 2019

Today, I’d like to talk about a very obscure aspect of college life: fire drills. Understandably, you’re probably already writing this off as irrelevant; after all, this is something you’ve had to deal with your entire school career. As a freshman, I can reasonably say that the experience is noticeably different in college than it was back in high school. For starters, even though a fire drill […]

BuckeyeThon 2019

Written by    Feb 11, 2019

FOR THE KIDS!!! That’s BuckeyeThon’s motto and driving mission. BuckeyeThon is the annual 24 hour dance marathon to fight pediatric cancer by raising money to fund research at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. This year more than 2,000 Buckeyes raised over $1.7 million. In November students sign up, join a team and pledge to raise at least $250 for the cure. This may sound like a lot, […]
