I look forward to Saturdays in the fall like children look forward to Christmas (or to be honest, how I look forward to Christmas).
If it wasn’t already obvious, I love Saturdays because of college football.
This year, I bought the full season package for the home games, but I will probably only end up going to the Big Ten games. Since I went to every game last year, I was never able to experience campus during the games.
Even if you don’t attend the games, being on campus is still an awesome experience. Here are a few things you should make sure to do.
1. Go to Woody’s Tavern.
It’s like a giant living room full of Ohio State fanatics. There are wings and pizza, and multiple TVs broadcasting the games. Everyone stands and cheers for every first down, touchdown, and field goal. It’s great.
2. Get some gelato at Espress-OH.
The coffee shop in the Union features a special gelato flavor each Saturday to represent the losing (I mean…opposing) team. (This week it’s San Diego State Cheesecake!)
Grab some friends and head to a tailgate! Even if you don’t have a car and aren’t technically ‘tailgating’, it’s still fun to grill some food and hang out before/during/after the game. Your residence hall or student organization might even be hosting one! (Hello free food!)
4. Skull Session
I would definitely suggest going to a Skull Session during your time as a student at Ohio State. If you’re not going to the game, it’s a great chance to see TBDBITL perform, and there is nothing like being in St. John’s Arena before a big game.
So don’t be bummed if you didn’t get tickets to the Shoe. There is still a ton of stuff to do around campus to show your Buckeye spirit!
