Remember how I said I would blog more frequently?
…Sorry. Really. I’ll explain.
I really don’t know where the time went. It seems like yesterday I just wrote about being a good (mediocre) [play me sometime] basketball player, but that was February 7th. Today is April 17th.
I suppose that’s what happens when you’re working hard in school and trying to get involved, but I really should have been more on top of this, so I apologize.
Now that I think about it, the same day that I posted last, I was notified that I would be a Resident Advisor (WordPress does not yet accept “advisor” as a real word, but OSU insists.) at Park-Stradley residence hall here at OSU! Actually, a lot has happened the past two months, so here’s a few notes on what has happened since the last time I posted:
- I joined a fraternity! Sigma Phi Epsilon has so far been a great experience to enhance myself as a person and forge relationships that will last a lifetime. It isn’t for everyone, but I highly encourage any and all naysayers to at least give it a shot. It’s pretty fun and very rewarding.
- My Grandpa, Dr. Louis George, passed away on February 21st. He was 82. He had been fighting cancer, and ultimately I’m glad that he’s not suffering anymore. He actually attended and graduated from Ohio State and became a dentist. His death has been extremely difficult on my Mom and Grandma, so just give them a thought or prayer if you’re into that. I’d appreciate it.
- Somehow, I made it through the Orientation interview process and came out as a 2014 OSU Orientation Leader! I used my Grandpa’s gold pants that he received in 1974 after OSU beat Michigan as my item of personal expression for the group interview portion. He’d probably be really happy to find out I got the position.
As happy as I am to be a brother in SigEp as well as an RA for next school year and an Orientation Leader for this summer, this semester has been such a struggle. The loss of my Grandpa was unbearable for an extended period of time, and honestly it’s probably why I didn’t post for the past two months.
Anyway, I hope to be posting here throughout the summer as well, so stay tuned in. This summer should be such an incredible experience, and I can’t wait to tell you all about it.
Hope everyone reading this is in good health. ‘Til next time!
