College is a unique time in one’s life: it is perhaps the only time that one can claim youthfulness one day and adulthood the next. (Job interview? Lemme just finish this episode of Spongebob…)
So when it was decided that I wouldn’t be going home for Easter this year, I resolved to continue all of the Easter traditions of my childhood right here at The Ohio State University. After a few trips to good old Dollar Tree (side note: yes, you can buy eggs from the dollar store- REAL EGGS) and a dose of holiday spirit, I had myself a merry little Easter. Here are some highlights/tips from my successful celebration:
1) YOU ARE NEVER TOO OLD FOR AN EASTER EGG HUNT!
My wonderful boyfriend hid eggs all over campus for me, each egg with a riddle leading me to the next one. To all the doubting girls out there: romance/chivalry is alive and well in the Buckeye State <3
2) Dyeing Easter Eggs is cheap and fun!
Egg dyeing kit: $1.99 (all the change in my wallet)
3) Easter is a perfect excuse to eat otherwise socially unacceptable amounts of chocolate
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
4) Going to church on Easter morning never loses its magic…
…Despite screaming babies, the inevitable chair deficiency, and the half-hour long communion
Happy Easter, Buckeyes! He is Risen!
