Pop quiz: How many alumni call Ohio State their alma mater?

Alumni Map

This map, compiled by the Student-Alumni Council, shows where recent graduates are headed after Ohio State. Graduating Buckeyes: Where will you be?

Answer: Over 500,000 across the globe.

It may seem like your years (and exams . . . and lectures . . .) at Ohio State will never end, but pretty soon you, too, will be added to the ranks of proud alumni. This past semester, I got the opportunity to join the Honors & Scholars Alumni Society as a student representative. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the alumni in the organization. I love to see how easy it is to stay involved as a Buckeye, even after graduation!

The Honors & Scholars Alumni Society is one of over 60 societies at Ohio State that strive to engage alumni and maintain their active relationship with the university. This particular society is unique in that it caters to Honors & Scholars Alumni and helps support the goals of current H&S students.

Alumni Dr Drake

The H&S Alumni Society is always planning their next event, whether it’s aimed at alumni or current students. In October, they held an Honors & Scholars Alumni Tailgate before the Homecoming football game. The Alumni enjoyed a trip down memory lane as they browsed through the Kuhn House. President Drake even made an appearance at the tailgate!

More recently, the society held a cookie decorating night for both students and alumni at the Kuhn House. It turned out to be a great finals-week stress reliever for students and a fun way to meet other people while enjoying holiday cookies.

If you are an Honors & Scholars student, make sure to watch out for upcoming Alumni Society events targeting current students. Getting involved is a great way to interact with alumni and see where an Ohio State degree can take you.
