It’s almost that time of the year where we get to dust off our bright shorts and tank tops and store away our winter gear until the next winter comes around. Although in Ohio, you can never be sure because it could very well still snow in April; but me being the optimist that I am, choose to believe that the worst is behind us.
Here are some things I’m most excited for that come with the change in season:
That moment right after the second midterm where life throws you some good karma and you’re given the week off to recuperate from the mental torture that you just went through. This is usually the time that college kids like myself get to bond with other college kids by going on exotic trips with them or doing some good in the world on mission trips through Buck-I-Serv.
With the arrival of spring and our week-long break comes my birthday. I was born on St Patrick’s day which falls right in the middle of spring break so I have like mega reasons to be stoked for spring. My birthday and growing old in general has always given me anxiety because for some odd reason I always think I’m gonna wake up on that day and be like 80 years old. Here’s to all my fellow March-born people. Cheers!
While I will be basking in the fact that I just made it through another semester, I will also be saying goodbye to a lot of friends who are graduating this year. I will be sad to see them go but I’m also very excited to see them begin their careers and succeed.
If you’re just as excited for the changing seasons as I am, feel free to express your excitement in the comments section. Since this is Game of Thrones themed, I leave you with these wise words from the franchise, “Never forget what you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armor yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you.”
