Fisher Convocation 2016

 Written by    September 1, 2016

I went to my first professional event as a freshman this past weekend: Fisher Convocation!

The entire experience was really memorable since I went with everyone in the Business Honors Learning Community!

Fisher Convocation

BHLC members looking fresh after convocation.

If you’re thinking of joining the Fisher College of Business, you’ll want to attend Fisher Convocation. Here are some of the things to look forward to:

    • I’ve been at Ohio State for over a week now, and am still getting excited whenever I’ve been given a free shirt; this feeling will never get old.
  • Hearing from the Dean of Fisher, Anil K. Makhija.
    • Up until this point, I hadn’t really heard from the dean except when he was speaking in recruitment videos at Fisher Day waaay back in February. So it was really nice to hear him welcoming the incoming Fisher class of 2020, and inspiring us with advice for the next four years!
  • Opportunity to network with other students and Fisher staff members.
    • Although I won’t begin my official Fisher classes until my third year, it was nice to meet some of the professors and other students that I’ll be seeing soon!
  • Building squad camaraderie.
    • This event commemorates your being a student at Fisher, so enjoy every second of it! It’s the start of your professional career! Talk and get to know the people around you since you’re all going through the same thing.

Go Bucks!
