Forget Thanksgiving, I need a post-election break

 Written by    November 9, 2016

I don’t know about you, but this election has been pretty emotionally exhausting for me. As it was my first time voting, this is really the first election I paid a lot of attention to. After 18 long, seemingly endless months of campaigning and mud-slinging, we have finally arrived at the end.

Now I’m not here to try to sway your vote at the last second or to even get into any specific issues, but rather to congratulate us for surviving another grueling election season.

While there is much work to be done in the next four years, regardless of the winner, all there is left to do today is sit back and watch the votes come in. I think we all need to take a break from the fighting, the campaigning, the negativity, and most certainly the hate. Try not to focus on the doom-and-gloom for a few hours and appreciate the fact that we are all passionate and patriotic Americans, which I think are means for celebration.

Happy Election Day!
