2016 Reflection

 Written by    December 30, 2016

One of the best things about winter break is that you can take your mind off of schoolwork, unwind, and really just relax. I never knew how sleep deprived I was until I came home and slept for about 12 hours the first night in my warm, cozy bed. I never really realized how much I missed home until I came home for this extended period of time.

Another reason I love winter break so much is that I can really reflect on my past semester. Being a freshman, there were so many challenges that I had to face, some of which I didn’t even realize would play a factor. Being in a whole new environment, trying to make new friends, and on top of it all, doing well in my classes left me with a lot to balance in a very short amount of time.

One piece of advice that I can give to incoming freshman is that although this seems like a lot to handle, it is doable. You can really have it all; go to social outings, study and explore all at once. But, it is all about time management. You have to learn how to balance everything to be able to do well in all of the areas that you want to.

With that said, I really think I was able to do this. I made so many new memories that I will treasure always, did well in school, and managed to know my way around campus pretty well.

Another thing I learned is that without a doubt, Ohio State is the place for me. I never thought that I could truly feel at home at any other place besides the place I have lived my entire life. Ohio State is now my second home; a place that is so dear to my heart and that I will always love.

Go Bucks, and have a very happy New Year!
