I went to the Fiesta Bowl

 Written by    January 5, 2017

I hope everyone had a fun and relaxing winter break! I am currently in denial that homework, studying, and dining hall food are right around the corner.

I rang in 2017 in Phoenix, Arizona, along with Urban Meyer and the Ohio State Buckeyes football team (what else would I do?). We all know that the game did not exactly go the way we all expected it to. Not-so-fun fact: Ohio State has not been shut out in a bowl game since 1920. Honestly, I didn’t even know they had bowl games in 1920.

So, obviously the game was frustrating. We saw the same offensive struggles we have been seeing all year long, and it was sad to end such a wonderful season on that awful note.

The day, however, was still fun. Ohio State owned University of Phoenix stadium! At least 70 percent of the fans in attendance were Ohio State fans, AND there were still more Ohio State students present at the end of the game than Clemson students. It was an amazing experience to follow the Buckeyes to a neutral site, and get to experience a football game with that level of importance. I got to see my friends from all over the country and celebrate Ohio State and the New Year.

We tailgated, we listened to Across the Field one hundred times, we stayed for Carmen, and we still believe in our team! Next year will bring bigger and better things. Seriously, we have a new quarterback coach, a new offensive coordinator, and an amazing new recruiting class coming in. The future is bright, guys!

So, yeah, the Fiesta Bowl was really shocking and kind of embarrassing, but have faith! Next year actually will be better. We are not the Browns. And we still beat TTUN.

I will be spending my Monday night watching the Bachelor instead of the National Championship if anyone wants to join me. Go Bucks!
