So, How About That Weather, Huh?

 Written by    February 13, 2017

The past two weeks have been a whirlwind of confusion, change, and uncertainty. Morning, afternoon, and night are completely different from one another, and students are struggling to adjust to the inconsistency. I’m not talking about classes or tests. I’m talking about the weather.

We’ve had temperatures from 15º to 65º and everywhere in between. I went on a run on Wednesday outside and was fairly comfortable, and two days later I had to bundle up in a winter jacket just to get to the treadmills at JO South two minutes away! I’ve pitied people wearing shorts in the morning and then wished I was them that same afternoon. And don’t get me started on precipitation. There’s been rain, snow, and some mixture of the two that just makes the ground really muddy. Sure, people are saying to stop worrying and enjoy the weather. Unlike my hometown of Cleveland, we have no lake effect to increase our snowfall. But how can I relax when I don’t even know what’s around the corner?

Maybe March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb, but February has no idea what animal it wants to be.

Nearly a 30-degree difference in one week. Just another Ohio February.
