I love love love books, so I was thrilled that Ohio State has Thompson Library with 11 floors full of books to enjoy. However, I quickly found out that while Thompson Library is great when you need books for a research project, it doesn’t have so many books that I want to read for fun.
Great place to find an audiology book, not such a great place to find a young adult book… (
Luckily, the Columbus library was here to save the day! The Columbus library has a few locations within a bus ride of the Ohio State campus, but there’s no need to deal with taking a bus there–you can get Columbus library books sent directly to Thompson for you to pick up.
You can also sign up for a Columbus library card at Thompson! Just go to the circulation desk on the first floor and they’ll give you an information sheet to fill out and then get you registered on the
Columbus library website. Then you can log onto the website and search for the books you want. When you find one you want to reserve, click on “place a hold” and then choose “CML OSU Thompson” as the pickup location. In a few days, you’ll get a call or an email telling you that your book is ready to be picked up. Then you go back to the Thompson circulation desk and you’re all set.
I better finish this blog post, my stack of unread library books is calling my name…
