Why I love Ohio State

 Written by    February 27, 2017

Exactly one year ago I accepted my invitation to be part of The Ohio State University class of 2020. Part of me can’t believe how long ago that seems and how much I feel like I have changed. I am no longer a high school student with really not a care in a world, but now a college student who is paving her way to have a successful future.

With that said, I want to focus on eight of theĀ amazing things that I love about Ohio State and why choosing to come here was the best decision of my life.

  1. The city of Columbus. There is so much to do both in and out of the city; get some amazing tacos at Condado in the Short North, see a concert at Nationwide, sight see downtown; the possibilities are endless.
  2. The campus feeling of Ohio State. Even though the city is great, campus is just far enough way to really feel how strong the community really is here, making it feel a whole lot smaller.
  3. Scott Dining Hall. Never did I ever think that I would have so much joy entering a college dining hall. With endless options such as all-day breakfast, churros, and Chinese food, there really are options for everyone.
  4. The RPAC. Now, I am not an avid exerciser, but when I do go to the RPAC, I have so much fun and also feel good about getting a good workout in. And to make it even better, the food is AMAZING!
  5. The Reading Room atĀ Thompson Library. Going to the library can be a little intimidating, but coming to this room of complete silence makes you actually want to work and be productive. Not to mention it’s so fancy and spectacular.
  6. Mirror Lake. I know that it is under construction right now, but it really is one of my favorite places on campus. It is so nice at the beginning of school to walk around, hangout, and get some fresh air. I am so excited to see what it looks like when they are done with it.
  7. Clubs. There are more than 1,000 student organizations to choose from. One of my favorite things that I participated in this past month was BuckeyeThon. It was such an honor to be a part of and I can’t wait to do it next year.

  8. The Tradition. I have never experienced something more extraordinary than the tradition here on campus. This creates a bond so special that truly brings people together. You will never go anywhere without someone yelling at you “O-H,” in which you must always respond with an “I-O!” One will forever be a Buckeye, which is something that I am very proud to be a part of.

Go Bucks!
