Bigger is Better (Pt. II)

 Written by    December 8, 2017

When I first toured tOSU, the presenter said, “You can make a big school feel small, but you can’t make a small school feel big.” This was a big game-changer for me.

After being here almost a full semester, I can say that Ohio State does not feel overwhelmingly big.

A school this size is offers a greater percentage of people who share similar passions. If I went to a small school, I wouldn’t have found the same community as I’ve found with Buckeye Catholic.

Student organizations include everything from Turf Club (yes, the artificial grass kind of turf) to the Medieval and Renaissance Performers Guild. Whatever you love, I guarantee others love it too.

That being said, you’re going to have to put in some effort. You’re not going to happen upon these clubs, but if you’re interested in them, you’ll seek them out.

Also do not underestimate having prominent sports teams. I’d call myself an average sports fan. It was never something I seriously considered when picking a school. I’m competitive and like school spirit, but I was never a huge follower of college athletics.

Being at Ohio State is so much fun because the sports are amazing. Not only is the football out of this world, but our hockey, volleyball and lacrosse teams are fantastic and so much fun to watch!

The football alone should convince you to go here. It’s the best. (PHOTO BY MCCURDY)
