One of the best parts about going to Ohio State is the amount of Buckeye-inspired food on and around campus. I love chocolate and peanut butter, so I have a lot of fun trying the different Buckeye foods! I wanted to write a blog post to tell you about each of them, but there are so many that I decided to split it up into two parts. Here’s part one!
Just don’t eat these kind of buckeyes! (
These are the traditional chocolate-and-peanut-butter treat, and they’re so delicious! You can get them at many of the cafes around campus, and they’re always perfect for when you need a little dessert after a meal at Union Market or want a reward after finishing a difficult midterm.
Buckeye pie is available at Sloopy’s Diner in the Union. It’s a yummy peanut butter filling on a graham cracker crust with chocolate and peanut butter chips sprinkled over it, and plenty of whipped cream on the side! I love getting Buckeye pie whenever I go to Sloopy’s with my friends.
Sloopy peanut butter chocolate pancakes
Also available at Sloopy’s Diner are the wonderful Sloopy pancakes, which are chocolate chip pancakes with peanut butter sauce and more chocolate chips on top. In case you were wondering: no, I have never gotten the Sloopy pancakes for dinner and then the Buckeye pie for dessert…but I have been tempted to.
Peanut butter banana smoothie with chocolate syrup
The RPAC has the best smoothies on campus, and one of them is the peanut butter banana smoothie. I like to have them add chocolate syrup to it for some extra deliciousness (and buckeye-ness)! One time my freshman year, they made a script Ohio with chocolate syrup in the smoothie. I haven’t seen that again since then, but it was pretty awesome!
