I just got a check in the mail from Ohio State.
Would you like one?
Ohio State does this really cool thing where you can help others, help yourself and make money all at the same time. If you have a student with a disability in your class and they request a note-taker, any classmate can do it. All you do is take thorough notes each class and then send them to the person who needs them. That way, whoever struggles to focus or keep up with the course can get a little extra help, you are motivated to pay attention and take great notes (making you more successful, too), and the school pays you $25 per credit hour to do it! It’s a win-win-win.
I love that I go to a place where it’s possible to better myself, my situation and others just by being a good student. It provides opportunity and peace of mind, and it’s a way to be a part of something just a little bigger than yourself. If a professor ever sends out an email requesting a note-taker for the course, don’t hesitate to respond right away and fill the position. You won’t regret it.
