Home? For Fall Break?

 Written by    November 14, 2018

Yes, you read that right. After two years of leaving campus but not actually going home during fall break (once for a vacation to New York, once to Minneapolis for a family bat mitzvah,) I finally got a chance to relax in Cleveland during the second week of October. I drove home with one of my housemates that Wednesday, with a final exam behind me and five days to decompress ahead. Fall break had all of the usual benefits of any trip home — home cooking, seeing relatives, etc — but I did have to put all of that on hold on Thursday morning for a summer internship interview downtown. Still, I was able to meet up with some friends afterward to walk around the city and grab lunch, which seemed like a fair deal.

Over the last two years, I had gotten used to being away from home for several months after moving in, but it was a nice change of pace to be able to come home and not worry about traveling somewhere else. I am not usually someone who goes home during weekends, so I always appreciate it when I can (even if it means missing an Ohio State football win).
