It’s crazy, and it’s weird, and it’s a little (read: a lot) sad–I’ve come to my last semester of college. There’s a lot to say simply about coming to this point (and I plan to get to that soon). But for right now, I want to alleviate some of the winter blues by making a “Last Semester at Ohio State” bucket list of things to do in these next three months.

Eat at the dining halls one last time
The food is ready for me when I get there? I get options of what I want to eat? I can eat as much as I want? I DON’T HAVE TO DO MY DISHES?!!
There’s a lot that’s nice about buying and making your own food when you move off campus, but I’d be lying if there weren’t days I didn’t miss the simplicity of KComm (that’s Kennedy Commons, for those of you who aren’t hip with the lingo). And for nostalgia’s sake, too, I’m determined to go back and enjoy the dining hall experience one last time.
Go to Taste of OSU
If you’ve never heard of it, Taste of OSU is an evening of cultural performances and international cuisine from more than 30 international/ethnic clubs at Ohio State. The event is free, but food tickets are $1 each.
This is an event that I have wanted to go to since I was a freshman, and it just never fit into my schedule. But finally (FINALLY) I can go this year.
Taste of OSU 2019 will be on February 15, starting at 5 p.m. For more information, click
Take the bus out to Ag Campus
So, my bucket list item isn’t to merely go see West Campus, per se. More specifically, it’s to go visit one of my favorite spots on campus, which I so rarely go to because it’s so far from the rest of my classes.
All it is is a little patch of woods near the Carmack Road bus stop. There’s a pond and foot path, sometimes even abandoned pieces of furniture; it’s a nice little hideaway if you’re willing to go to West Campus. I shot one of my dance films here and (fun fact) I once walked here all the way from High Street!
See a play at the Drake
I’m not sure how I’ve managed to be at Ohio State four years as an Arts Scholar and never gone to an Ohio State Theatre production, but I plan to change that. I’ve got my eyes on their
upcoming show, A Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, a Tony award-winning play about a mathematical genius who sets out to solve a neighborhood mystery about a dead dog.
Take a picture with the Union Brutus
Almost every day on my walk to class, I cut through the Ohio Union and pass the classic Brutus bench; more often that not, there’s someone posing for a picture. And having seen this so many times, I feel like I’ll have missed out if I, too, didn’t get that iconic picture.
Plus, would anyone believe I went to Ohio State if I didn’t have a picture with some form of Brutus?
