Columbus Food Scene: Katalina’s

 Written by    April 1, 2019

Last week one of my friends from Miami came up to visit during her spring break, and we went to Katalina’s, a brunch place I’ve been wanting to check out.

Katalina’s is south of campus, located at the corner of West Third and Pennsylvania Avenue. It’s a tiny place with sharpie scribbled on the walls from customers. They serve Mexican food, which is my favorite.

It was difficult to decide what to get because everything on the menu sounded amazing, but I opted for the Southern Brown Betty Biscuit Balls. They were delicious! Three biscuits filled with apple butter and cheddar cheese with two over easy eggs on top. I think it was supposed to come with ham, but oh well!

My friend Kaleigh ordered Katalina’s famous pancake balls, filled with dulce de leche. She said they were super filling but amazingly good.

We went on a sunny, warm day and were able to sit under umbrellas at tables outside on their patio, and the food came out quickly. Katalina’s is known for being a dive cafe that serves local and authentic food. It was delicious, so I will definitely be back soon.

Check out the menu or follow them on Instagram @katalinascafe.
