Great news–I nailed my interview! Passing is the same thing as perfecting it, right? Hey, I made it through Stage 3 of the RA process and that’s all that matters!
Song of the Week=All of the lights by Kanye West feat. Rihanna and Kid Cudi
As I have mentioned before, I am in the middle of this very competitive race known as “The RA Process.” Yes, it’s every bit as unforgiving as it sounds. Everything from the initial application, to the interview has been one, giant, tense endeavor. Last time I reported in, I had just got done with the interview(s). Well, after weeks of axious uncertainty, I am proud to announce that I am fortunate enough to have moved onto the fourth stage of the process: The RA Class.
So how hard was it to make it just this far? From what I’m hearing, well over 400 hundred people applied. After the interviews, they cut over 300 of those. This leaves something in the realm of 150 applicants left. The next step is to attend the official RA Class in which you meet once a week with a small group of up to 13 other students. From there it’s just a matter of doing all of the work, passing the class, and then you’ll become and RA!
Just kidding, it’s not that easy (nothing in this process is). You see, from all of the classes, only half of all remaining applicants will make it to become an RA. So if you thought that outdoing 75% of the competition was hard enough, you’ve done nothing but lower that number to 50%. Of the top 25%. Except this stage of the process requires much more dedication infinitely more work. But hey, nobody ever said that this was going to be easy. It’s not the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do (I wrestled).
Lesson Learned: Life is just one competition after another!
