Buckeye Bucket List

As my freshman year at Ohio State comes to an end, I’ve been thinking about all the things I’d like to do in the next three years I am lucky enough to be at Ohio State. I’m hoping to continue adding to this list, and am always taking suggestions! :)
Things to do before you graduate, compiled from various sources:
- Jump in Mirror Lake before the OSU/M!ch!g@n game
- Sing Carmen Ohio during Light Up the Lake with 2,000 of your fellow Buckeyes
- Attend a football game (Sit in Block O!)
- Eat a late-night dinner at Sloopy’s
- Rush the field after an incredible win (if you can)
- Enjoy Oval Beach
- Get a 4.0 at least one term
- Take a picture with Brutus the Buckeye and Gordon Gee (bonus points if they’re together)
- Eat Insomnia Cookies
- Explore the underground tunnel system
- Attend a sporting event other than a football game
- Get ice cream at Mirror Lake Creamery
- Enjoy the view from the Buckeye Reading Room, also known as the 11th floor of Thompson Library
- Climb the wall at the Adventure Recreation Center on west campus
- Learn a foreign language
- Find a mentor/befriend a professor
- Explore the Union – it’s HUGE.
- Find your special “study spot” on campus
- Work out at the RPAC and/or Jesse Owens
- Eat dinner with President Gordon Gee
- Pull an all-nighter at SEL
- Study in the Reading Room of Thompson
- Study abroad!
- Play an intramural sport
- Join a student organization that means something to you…and actually stay involved.
- Go to a telescope roof night on the roof of Smith Lab
- Visit the planetarium in Smith Lab
- Go to a Marching Band Skull Session
- Connect with alumni
- Become the President of a student org
- Get invited to President Gordon Gee’s house
- Explore the Short North during Gallery Hop
- Eat at every dining place on campus at least once
- Play Frisbee/toss ball on the Oval
- Visit University Archives to learn about OSU’s history
- Take a class purely for enjoyment
- Audition for a play/musical/performing group
- Go on a road trip with friends
- Spend some time in Columbus – it’s a wonderful city, don’t get too stuck in the OSU bubble !
- Actually go to professors’ office hours
- Get involved in a great internship
- Make the Dean’s List at least once
- Move off-campus
- Conduct some form of research – OSU is a research university, after all!
- Take a professor to lunch
- Participate in a mock interview to get advice on interviewing skills
- Utilize the Career Center and all of their info!
- Body paint for a football game – OSU/M!ch!g@n next year??
- Do the “Long Walk” down the Oval with your sweetheart <3
- Graduate with a degree from THE Ohio State University!
