    Great Success!

    By Andrew N. | May 28, 2012

I want to start by apologizing. Lately, I’ve been blogging as much as I’ve been sleeping, none. I might be exaggerating slightly, I’ve at least blogged a little ;-) Seriously though, I have been slacking. I wouldn’t be surprised if I lost all 3 of my fans (not including my mother, I’m thinking she will still like me).

I would like to take this moment to make excuses for why I have been not keeping you all informed with how awesome my life is. This quarter, I have been in a class which is the last step in the process to become an RA. This process is ultra competitive, and began all the way in the first week of January. Since then, I have had an application process, interview, and a whole quarter class to be judged.

Being an engineering student, I figured one of the benefits was not having to write anymore papers. This tidbit was one of the main selling points to being an engineer, just kidding…but seriously. However, as a part of this class, I had to write two papers in the last two weeks, both about 7 to 8 pages. Now I know what you’re thinking,  “7 to 8 pages? I can crank that out with both hands tied behind my back while bobbing for apples.” As I hinted towards, paper writing≠my forte.

This picture has nothing to do with my post, I just think it’s cool. PS: if you aren’t familiar with these two, it’s Al Pacino and Christopher Walken, perhaps you have heard of them.

After staying up all night to finish those papers, costing me that sleep I was discussing earlier, I was able to finally finish everything. The class actually ended week 8, and boy has that been a relief. While I loved the class, and it was certainly my favorite of the quarter, and I met some awesome people as a part of it, and this is a really bad run on sentence, I am happy to have that extra couple hours of free time during my week.

After all the time spent, countless hours of hoping, praying, wondering, worrying, sweating, and possibly crying, I finally heard back last week.

Say hello to the newest RA at Lane Avenue Residence Hall! If you find yourself over there next year, which means you are probably lost if you are that far away from campus, stop by and say hi! Just tell the person at the front desk that you are looking for the coolest RA in the building, they will know where to send you.
