Why having a ton of time doesn’t mean that anything gets done…

    By Julia | July 16, 2012

I’ve literally been planning out blog posts in my head for weeks.

Like the time when my family and I went on a roadtrip through Tennessee, and were sitting “ten feet off of Beale” (ooh I love that song… but only realized that those were the real lyrics when i looked them up in memphis haha) where we met the Mayor of Memphis, TN and ate some pretty incredible BBQ, or taking classes, utilizing OSU resources, making pretty cool art out of random things, cooking, and helping lost looking people walking around campus with shiny folders and nametags ;).

But I haven’t. I’ve sat at computers for many many hours each day, but I can’t bring myself to do ANYthing productive. As far as blogging goes, just thinking of doing it, doesn’t really cut it.

Heck, I was most prolific at writing when I was in my craziest quarters. I’m by no means bored out of my mind doing nothing… I’m taking 3 classes (for a total of 9 credit hours, which in the summer is like taking 18 credit hours because it is in only 7 weeks), and I’m working part time in the Women in Engineering office on campus. I have the exciting job of entering student data into a spreadsheet so we can keep in contact with visitors… so as a friendly reminder… please,  write legibly, someone (like me!) has to try and read it.

In any case, I have some cool stuff coming up, so hopefully this makes up for the hiatus. But there is definitely some truth to the old addage: “If you want something to get done, you give it to a busy person”

** and if you still don’t know where that lyric is from, it is from “Blue Suede Shoes” that was originally written and performed by Mark Cohn (he won best new artist at the 1992 grammys… Thanks wikipedia!) Lots of people have covered it (Michael Ball, Lonestar, Cher…)

    Peace,

    -J
