Behind the scenes… literally

As I’m typing this, a performance of one of OSU’s fall Theatre productions is running (it’s nearly at intermission!).

I am doing run crew for Arabian Nights this semester, a devised piece by Mary Zimmerman that I talked about a little here. I get to sit backstage on headset that connects to the lightboard operator, stage manager, and assistant stage manager and help set up props and open curtains for entrances and exits. This is an ensemble cast where most of the props are actor manipulated, so there isn’t a ton to do during the show (its mostly work before and after). It’s a super hilarious show (there’s a little bit of everything) and there are performances Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, so y’all should come out!
