Looking onward: Senior spring round 1

    By Julia | January 11, 2013

Blogging is like exercising… Once you get in the groove, you keep doing it, but once you stop, it’s really hard to pull yourself back to the keyboard (or treadmill).  Not like my winter break was very blog-worthy… I was sick the whole time. I was coming down with a cold when I went back home where everyone there was recovering from another bug. Sometimes you love your family, and other times they make you sick… literally.

Isn’t he cute? (the significance of this picture comes in later…)

I met up with a good friend from high school who has a band that has toured throughout the country and I played countless games of Apples to Apples with family. Also since I can never find the time when classes are in session, I read, A LOT. I demolished The Hunger Games series in just a couple days and watched the movie (and now I have to wait until next november for the next installment, lame). I saw the new film Les Miserables which was exciting because it is my favorite musical and I had been anticipating its arrival since I heard that it was going to be made into a film.

One of the coolest things I got for the holidays, drumroll please…. a Brutus Buckeye PillowPet!
    It’s adorable!

And then new years came, and I turned 22.
When you’re younger every year feels so different, but I honestly don’t feel any different than when I was 16, except for now, the real world is looming on the horizon.   Even though I’m not graduating until spring 2014 so that I can complete my theatre major, friends from high school and college are accepting job offers, making plans to move elsewhere and enter the ‘real world’ (or grad school).

Not wanting to make college sound like a vacation, but I have the feeling that you get during the last few days of a vacation when you’re scrambling to do everything that you had set out to do, and realized that you never did. Except its college, and there’s a finite amount of time left, and there’s so much left to do…

    Peace,

    J
