Semesters: Take 2

 Written by    January 13, 2013

After a week of classes, it seems appropriate to look over the past 5 days and figure out what the rest of the semester looks like. From what I can tell, this semester is going to be the best yet, including quarters last year. I can’t say this is the best semester just by comparing it to the Fall semester. So I’m including last year too. Just read this post. I’ll stop rambling.

First, I need to explain something. I hate math. If math were a baby, I would make funny faces at it. But math isn’t a baby, and I still make funny faces at it. Anyway, I’m taking statistics this semester and I know I’m going to hate it.

Now that my hatred for numbers is out of the way, I can tell you about classes that actually matter.

I’m taking a first level photography class, and I am going to love it. I’m going to try and post as much stuff from the class as I can on here so all you faithful followers (If you do exist, I love you!) can see my progress!

So there’s Brutus chilling at the Union. So far the best picture I’ve take from my first assignment.

I am also taking Persuasive Communication. It’s my second second level writing course. I took one last semester, and this one counts for a major specific requirement. I’m actually a Communication New Tech and Media major, unlike my profile that says I’m Forestry. It’s wrong.

One day this week in Persuasive Comm, we had impromptu speeches. We were given a random topic, and had a minute or so to prepare. My topic was genuinely awkward: “Convince your audience to become nudists.” So thats exactly what I did.

I was completely ridiculous with it, and even wrote on the chalkboard. It was pretty much just a speech filled with terrible puns about nudists. I’m going to love that class.

The last class I’m taking is Spanish 2. I love Spanish so far. I am really considering getting a minor in Spanish.

That is what my week consisted of. This is why my spring semester is going to be amazing.
