Campus Sickness

 Written by    January 17, 2013

It’s true; everybody gets sick eventually. Apparently, it’s my turn!

Being sick away from home is probably one of the worst feelings in the world. As much as I call Ohio State my home now, it just isn’t the same as being in your own bed with your mom bringing you Ramen noodles. I’ve found out this week, though, that you don’t have to suffer alone!

I went to the Wilce Student Health Center on campus (right behind Thompson) after making appointment, and was definitely surprised by the care there! It really is just like going to a family doctor at home. The nurses and staff there were truly invested in their patients.

After being examined, the nurse practitioner prescribed me some medicine and I was able to walk right down the hall to the pharmacy and pick it up with only a fifteen minute wait! I thought that that was pretty great.

Now I’m going home to recuperate over the long weekend, but I’m glad I had some guidance from the Student Health Center to at least feel a bit better this week!
