You’ve probably been asking yourself, “When is Jordan going to tell us about his life before Ohio State?”.  Well, its your lucky day!

Houston a.k.a. H-town a.k.a. Space City, Texas

Pictured above is my hometown of Houston, which is very, very far from Columbus.  The story of  how I came to Ohio State all starts here, during my senior year of high school.  The year before, an organization I was involved helped send a small group students to Ohio State through connections and scholarships.  Even though I saw my friends take the opportunity, I honestly really wasn’t considering Ohio State at the time.  At that point, I wasn’t sure where I wanted to go to school, or what I even wanted to major in.  Ohio State sounded like a cool idea, but that’s all it was, an idea.

As my senior year rolled on, I started narrowing down my school choices.  I looked into Ohio State every now and then, but it wasn’t until a representative from campus came to speak at my high school that things started getting serious.  She told me more about campus, student life, and scholarships that were available to out of state students such as myself.  I really started to take interest at that point, and before I knew it I was filling out admission and scholarship applications!

It didn’t take long for me to receive my acceptance letter, and a few months later I got word of a big scholarship I earned!  Despite all the good news, I had other options open and was hesitant to make a commitment.  It wasn’t until I attended “Go Buckeye Day” last April that I was able to solidify my decision.  Getting a full tour of campus, hearing from current students and alumni, and spending the day learning more about Ohio State made it easy for me to make a choice!  And the rest, as they say, is history.  Right now I can’t picture myself being anywhere else but here, and looking back on it, I wouldn’t change a thing.
