    I’m feeling thoughtful

    By Julia | February 15, 2013

Not like being nice, mind you, but rather full of thought. Like thinking. I haven’t slept much all week (my procrastinating-self’s fault…), so now that Ihave a semi-normal amount of sleep under my belt, my brain is on rapid-fire mode.

    The culprit:

“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive and then go do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” -Howard Thurman

1.) If you could do anything in the world (if you knew you couldn’t fail), what would you do?

2.) What are you doing now?

3.) Why isn’t the answer to number 1, number 2?

4.) What makes you come alive?

I was at a point where I wasn’t pursuing something that interested me, and doing that definitely doesn’t make you come alive. Have you ever seen someone talk about what they’re passionate about? How they’re magnetic, and their face lights up? That can be you. It is no one else’s fault than your own for not pursuing the goals that you want. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

I’m pursuing 2 majors because with their combination, I can go anywhere and do anything (except be an astronaut… I’ve always wanted to do that, but my vision is too horrible, but anyways…) and I enjoy them.

Are you happy with where you’re headed?

    If yes, keep going.

    If not, change something.

I’ve heard it somewhere that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting the same result.

It takes a lot of strength and courage to re-evaluate where you are and change your trajectory but boy is it worth it. Better now than never.

The world needs people who have come alive.

    Have you?

    Peace,

    -J
