“Building” My Photography
By Michael | February 21, 2013
The title is kind of a play on words. My latest project is a documentary on body building. A good friend of mine (the same one in my last video!) is training to be a body builder. I documented one of his lifting days.
I went to the RPAC for the project, and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect shoot. These are my favorites from what I took. Andy is a great guy. He can get quite animated during his work outs!

I tried to make these photos depict what he was feeling. The first one depicts a very intense, fast work out. The background and foreground are out of focus, just depicting him in detail.
This one I chose black and white because he was energized and getting in the zone. A perfect representation of his “tunnel vision” is a photo in black and white.
This one has a real raw feeling to it, I took it trying to depict an anger, powerful feel.
This one is more vibrant, I wanted it to be a very soft feel, but still powerful.
