The Life And Times Of A Summer Student, Part 1

 Written by    May 11, 2013

For the first time in my life, I can say I’m happy to be taking summer school. High school me would faint if I said those words.

I’m only taking two classes, but with how my life is going right now I feel like I can take on the world.

I feel like I could take all the classes!

But I can’t and probably shouldn’t. I’m also working this summer and between video shoots, writing, and meetings I can’t do anymore than two classes along with work. My boss is making it apparent that he not only wants me more involved with video productions but also with my own goals and projects. More YouTube videos? More short films? The possibilities are endless. I was planning on making more videos regardless but if I have their help I will be unstoppable.

I’m taking Communication Theory and a Photoshop class this summer. Not only will I be in class 5 days a week, but on Tuesday and Thursday I have a five hour lab for Photoshop. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

Luckily my Communications class I’ve taken before so that won’t be too hard. I should have a laid back work load school wise. I will get so much experience with Photoshop and communications this summer along with video work that I will definitely know for sure what I want to do for a career by August.

I plan on sharing my experiences all summer long.

It doesn’t really feel like summer though. I am sitting in a Starbucks writing this post, and they’re having the “Frappuccino Happy Hour” and I feel so weird. Everyone is having cold drinks and it is 55 degrees in Columbus.

Oh well, nothing makes me feel more weird than video blogging in public. And I’m doing that too right now. I’ll post that when I’m done with that too.

Until then, welcome to the life and times of a summer student.
