So now that I work in a lab on campus, my favorite part of documentaries is all the shots of RESEARCH: artistically blurry close-ups of beakers, scientists walking purposefully down hallways in white lab coats, and the SERIOUS SCIENTIST FACE. Everyone is very serious when they do research. Obviously.

an apple by any other name…

As my first time really living on my own, away from home, not in a dorm, it’s been pretty interesting to go grocery shopping and actually make meals for myself. From Osnabrück I headed down to Como, Italy to visit another best friend from Ecuador named Federica (but feel free to call her Fede).  Fede lives very close to George Clooney.  She also lives very close to the most beautiful lake that might exist.  The Lago di Como was formed by a melted glacier, so it dips into a valley between beautifully green mountains.
