Academic programs

You can earn two kinds of degrees at Ohio State ATI. Complete an associate of applied science degree and you can be career-ready in as little as two years. Or, earn an associate of science degree for a simple pathway to a bachelor's degree through the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences on the Columbus campus.

Academics

You can combine ATI's career-focused associate degree and certificate programs to match your specific career goals in agriculture, horticulture, engineering technology, environmental sciences and business. All of our programs emphasize experiential learning. View our full list of academic programs.

Facilities and labs include:

  • The 1700-acre Grace L. Drake Agricultural Laboratory, with facilities for dairy, beef, swine, horses and small ruminants — plus a 143-acre land laboratory where the field serves as the classroom! The beef cattle handling facility was designed by noted animal behaviorist and autism advocate Temple Grandin and is the only facility of its kind in Ohio.

  • A horticulture complex comprising six production greenhouses, Secrest Arboretum, sports fields, turfgrass plots, a model golf hole, an All-America Selections garden, and shade, perennial and herb gardens.

  • Laboratories for engines, fluid power, electricity and electronics, construction and metal manufacturing

Academic support

Make the most of professional and peer tutoring, study groups, our learning laboratory, disability services, personal and career counseling, and supplemental academic advising.

Student life

Participate in one of nearly 30 student organizations — many with a career focus. The Student Activities Center includes a weight room, basketball court, racquetball courts, outdoor tennis and basketball courts, and a student lounge with board and table games.

Students can also live on campus in our Applewood Village Apartments — which are managed and staffed by our Office of Student Life. Living on campus helps students build their community at Ohio State ATI, learn how to live independently and succeed academically.

Internships

Most ATI students complete a paid industry internship, which often leads to an employment offer. In fact, over the last four years, more than two-thirds of graduating students reported having jobs in hand before graduation.
